Anouk Sanczuk has been playing the violin since the age of four and quickly developed an interest in folk music. She founded the folk group Falafel, with which she won the Balrally in 2007, an event organized by vzw Boombal and vzw Muziekmozaïek. In October 2009, the new formation Broes was born. With Broes, she was named Best Newcomer of the Year (Folkroddels) in 2010, won the Dranouter Rootsrally in 2013, and received the Flanders Folk Award for Best Live Band in 2023.
In 2011, she began studying jazz violin at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. She completed her Master's degree in Jazz & Light Music (Violin) at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem, the Netherlands. During her final year, she participated in an Erasmus+ program at the Centre de Musique de Didier Lockwood (CMDL) in Dammarie-lès-Lys, France. In 2016, she performed on stage with Didier Lockwood and his string class at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
In recent years, she has played in various projects such as the Ghent Folk Violin Project, Broes, Bamako Express, Motyk, Duo De Schepper-Sanczuk, Duo Gambetta-Sanczuk, and has participated in the Room13Orchestra. She has also delved further into the world of theatre through collaborations with Compagnie Krak in the projects BankContact Invasion and Els Degryse's cabaret show "The Woman Who Sells Her Clitoris."
Over the years, she has collaborated with numerous artists (including Eva De Roovere, Mich Walschaert, Lieven Tavernier, Neeka, Issa Sow, Bao Sissoko, Jan Verstraeten, Daniel Dzidzonu, Stijn Meuris, and N'faly Kouyaté) and has performed on a long list of stages, including Dranouter, Bozar, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Opera House in Oman, the Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Grand Théâtre in Dakar, Senegal, the World Culture Festival, and in Bangalore, India.
Anouk Sanczuk speelt sinds haar vier jaar viool en raakt al snel geïnteresseerd in folkmuziek. Ze richt de folkgroep Falafel op, waarmee ze in 2007 de Balrally wint, een organisatie van vzw Boombal en vzw Muziekmozaïek. In oktober 2009 ontstaat de nieuwe formatie Broes, waarmee ze in 2010 werden uitverkozen als beste nieuwkomer van het jaar (Folkroddels), in 2013 de Dranouter Rootsrally wonnen en in 2023 de Flanders Folk Award ontvangt voor 'beste live band'.
In 2011 start ze haar opleiding jazzviool aan het Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. Ze beëindigde haar master Jazz & Lichte Muziek (viool) aan het ArteZ conservatorium in Arnhem (Nederland). In haar laatste jaar volgde ze een Erasmus+ programma aan de Centre de Musique de Didier Lockwood (CMDL) in Dammary-lès-Lys (Frankrijk). In 2016 stond ze samen met Didier Lockwood en zijn strijkersklas op het podium in Theatre des Champs-Elysées.
De afgelopen jaren speelt ze bij verschillende projecten zoals Ghent Folk Violin Project, Broes, Bamako Express, Motyk, Duo De Schepper-Sanczuk, Duo Gambetta-Sanczuk en neemt ze deel aan het Room13Orchestra. Ook verdiept ze zich verder in theater wereld door een samenwerking met Compagnie Krak in de projecten BankContact Invasie en de Cabaret voorstelling van Els Degryse 'De vrouw die haar clitoris verkoopt'.
Door de jaren heen ging ze verschillende samenwerkingen aan (met oa Eva De Roovere, Mich Walschaert, Lieven Tavernier, Neeka, Issa Sow, Bao Sissoko, Jan Verstraeten, Daniel Dzidzonu, Stijn Meuris en N'faly Kouyaté) en concerteert ze op een lange lijst van podia (Dranouter, Bozar, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Parijs, Opera House in Oman, Hong kong Jazz festival, Grand Théâtre in Dakar Senegal, Word Culture festival, Bangalore India).
